Seaview Playground
OPENED JULY 24TH, 2019
INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND:
- Addressing the diverse developmental needs of children in your community by ensuring children of all abilities can interact, learn and play while nurturing physical, social-emotional, sensory, cognitive and communicative skill development.
BACKGROUND:
- The current playground is 18 years old and is slated to be replaced this year (2019)
- City Council has approved additional funding to upgrade this playground to be an inclusive style playground
ADDITIONAL UPGRADES:
- Planning improvements to the path from parking to the playground
- Removal of trees that are impeding on the sewer line and sidewalk. Replanting a minimum of 3 trees for each tree removed
- Additional striping / marking of ADA parking spaces
- Restrooms were refurbished in 2018
- Tennis courts will be resurfaced in Summer 2019
NEW FEATURES:
- No Fault Rubber Safety Surface (instead of wood chips)
- Latex free, non-toxic, no loose rubber specs
- Porous & slip resistant, seamless & ADA accessible
- Recycled / LEED Compliant
- More Swings!
- 4 belt swings added across from the playground near the restrooms
- 1 toddler bucket swing
- 1 ADA Swing
- 1 Multi-person disc swing
