Public Safety, Planning, Human Services and Personnel  - 3:30pmFinance - 5:30pmParks and Public Works - 7:30pm

Staff and Councilmembers attend committee meetings virtually;  committee meetings  are work sessions  and do not include audience comments or public hearings.  Members of the public can  attend virtually  or watch on a monitor in the City Council Conference Room, 121 5th Avenue North, Edmonds WA 98020.

How to make a public comment at a city council meeting during 'Audience Comment' or 'Public Hearing' portions of the agenda:

  • Appear IN PERSON at a City Council meeting
  • From ZOOM: please raise your hand electronically via Zoom HAND button
  • To COMMENT BY PHONE call: US: +1 253 215 8782 WEBINAR ID: 957 9848 4261 -  Press *9 on the telephone to speak.
  • Comments are limited to three minutes per person, a 30-second warning will be given to indicate approaching time limit.

Icon closed captionsClosed captioning is now available through our zoom City Council meetings. To use, once you are in the zoom meeting go to the "Closed Caption" menu button at the bottom of the screen and click on the arrow on the right side of the button, then go to "Show Subtitle". To adjust the settings, once again go to the "Closed Caption" menu button and click on the arrow and select "Subtitle Settings". You can adjust the font size of the Closed Caption from Normal, to Medium, to Large.

The Edmonds City Council (all Council positions are at large positions) meet every Tuesday of every month, except for the fifth Tuesday of a month, at 7:00 p.m.   Audience participation is welcomed during the "Audience Comments" portion of the meeting. Audience comments are limited to three minutes per person. Comments regarding any public hearing or "closed-record review" scheduled on the agenda are not taken during the Audience Comments portion of the meeting.

Public Hearings will be scheduled as necessary. The public may sign up to speak during the "public hearing portion" of the Council meeting.

*Special Council Meetings: A Special City Council Meeting is a meeting that begins at a different time than 7:00 p.m. or on a different day (other than the regular Tuesday meetings.) A "Special Meeting Notice" is issued for those meetings.

The full Council Meeting begins with a Call to Order and the Flag Salute. Next on the agenda is the approval of the Agenda followed by approval of the Consent Agenda. Following approval of the Agenda and the Consent Agenda, the Council begins to discuss the numbered items on the agenda. Audience Comments are included in these numbered items. During this portion of the Council Meeting, the Council can discuss an item, take action, or place on a future agenda.

Full Council meetings are broadcast live and rebroadcast daily on Comcast channel 21 and Frontier channel 39. Time: Noon and 7 p.m.

Executive sessions:
Executive sessions are scheduled as necessary and address confidential matters such as the purchase of land, personnel matters, and advice from legal counsel. They are not open to the public and are not televised.

Public access:  If special accommodations are needed, please contact the City Clerk at 425.771.2525 as soon as possible or at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
