Access to the 988 Lifeline is now available through every land line, cell phone, and voice-over internet device in the US. The 988 dialing code is for call, text, and chat.
988 services are available in Spanish, along with interpretation services in over 250 languages.
988 Lifeline is available for everyone, and also offers additional, specialized resources if needed: Youths, Veterans, Attempt Survivors, LGBTQ+, Individuals with Neurodivergence, Black Mental Health, Disaster Survivors, Maternal Mental Health, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Hearing Loss, Native Americans and Alaskan Natives, Loss Survivors, Ayunda En Espanol.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month
This month we will be marking National Suicide Prevention Month with a focused emphasis of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Services, and highlighting free, anonymous resources available in our community.
- September 6: the Edmonds Mayor and City Council will proclaim September as Suicide Prevention Month and will receive a presentation on Youth Suicide in Our Community from the Snohomish Health District.
