When is YARD WASTE collected and can I add FOOD WASTE to the collection cart?
- Curbside yard waste collection is available for an additional monthly fee and is a very popular service. All companies supply a collection container and a schedule to those that call and request the service.

- Yard waste includes the following:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Weeds
- Brush
- Prunings
- Branches up to 4 inches in diamter and less than 4 feet long
- NO PLASTIC BAGS ALLOWED
- Yard waste does not include dirt, rocks, sod, pet wastes or pet litter, barbecue ashes or coals, metal, bricks, lumber or treated wood products such as beauty bark.
- All garbage service customers with yard waste collection service have the option of adding food scraps* into their cart, along with the regular yard waste materials. It is now acceptable to add the following compostable materials to the collection cart:
- Food Scraps, including:
- Meat, fish and poultry scraps & bones
- Fruit and vegetables
- Coffee grounds and teabags
- Bread products
- Dairy products
- Beans, pasta and rice
- Eggshells and nutshell
- Food-Soiled Paper, including:
- Food-soiled paper towels and napkins
- Uncoated paper plates and cups*
- Uncoated paper take-out cartons*
- Shredded paper
- Paper bags containing food scraps
- Greasy pizza boxes
- Waxed cardboard
- Paper egg & berry cartons
- Coffee filters
* Uncoated paper does not have a shiny surface
