Staff is currently working on developing the code for 'Middle Housing' as well as a permanent ordinance for the 'Neighborhood Centers and Hubs'.

This page shows the upcoming community engagement activities/ opportunities.

Neighborhood Centers + Hubs Walk & Talks (March 27, 28, 31)

What to Do: Explore the neighborhood and help us better understand community preferences and concerns.

  • Focus on the 12 Quality Criteria: Start by familiarizing yourself with the 12 Quality Criteria, and use this as a guide to assess the public spaces you visit the neighborhoods. Reflect on aspects like accessibility, safety, comfort, and overall use of the space.
  • Take a Walk Around the Neighborhood: Head out to the public spaces in the neighborhood and walk around at your own pace. Take time to observe the various features and conditions of the spaces you visit. Pay attention to how well the space meets the 12 criteria and make notes about what stands out to you, whether positive or negative.
  • Document Your Observations and Take Photos: As you walk, make note of any features, conditions, or issues that catch your attention. If possible, take photos to help illustrate your observations —whether it’s something you think works well or something you believe could be improved. You can submit up to 5 photos to share what you noticed, providing a brief description of each one to explain its relevance to your feedback.
  • Submit Your Feedback: Once you've completed your walk, gather your notes and photos. Submit your feedback via the online form available or handover the physical form at the City Hall. Be sure to include your observations, ideas for improvement, and up to five photos (with descriptions).

Join Staff for a 'Walk & Talk' session :

If you’d like to explore the neighborhood with others, you’re welcome to join the staff-led sessions as outlined in the schedule below. It’s a great opportunity to share your thoughts and hear from fellow community members.
Walk & Talks are 90-minute walking discussions held at designated Neighborhood Centers and Hubs. During these walks, we’ll focus on the unique features of each area, gather input on potential opportunities, and address any concerns. The goal is for community members to lead the discussions, with staff supporting and facilitating as needed.

Maps are provided below area guidance. Written comments, and photos can be submitted to the City along with feedback.
