Staff presented both growth alternatives to the Planning Board on October 23rd, where the Board evaluated growth capacity and potential across centers and hubs within each alternative, ultimately recommending a preferred scenario.

Staff met with the Planning Board to discuss the Land Use and Housing draft Goals and Policies. These discussions aim to ensure that the new Plan incorporates all previously discussed key themes and addresses the community's concerns, needs, and priorities.

This is a joint Planning Board and Economic Development Commission meeting to discuss city's 15-minute city concept to develop the growth alternatives, strategies and economy goals.

Building upon the previous Planning Board meeting on February 14th, City Staff shared Comprehensive Plan Growth alternative concepts to meet the anticipated growth targets. Staff also integrated recommendations/suggestions provided by the Planning Board during the prior meeting discussions.
On March 06th, the Planning Board meeting covered the following in relation to the Comprehensive Plan:

Two draft growth alternatives are being developed based on the community input and staff analysis, taking into account state and county recommended methodologies.
Staff presented these Growth Alternatives to discuss City's approach and strategies to identify areas suitable for accommodating anticipated growth, while meeting the affordability, income, and density requirements of House Bills 1220, 1110, and 1337, which the state legislature adopted in 2021 and 2023.

Existing Conditions Memo: A foundation for analysis, decision-making,
and planning. The memo includes preliminary findings from the community outreach events held
between September and December 2023, along with demographic, economic, and spatial data analysis.
Additionally, it highlights ongoing or new City initiatives relevant to the comprehensive plan, laying the
groundwork for the proposed growth alternatives.
Land Use Capacity Analysis Memo: This outline proposed methods and assumptions for
the forthcoming City of Edmonds’ Land Capacity Analysis within the Everyone’s Edmonds
Comprehensive Plan Update. This method aligns with the GMA targets for new jobs and housing, while
ensuring compliance with recently adopted state legislation (1110, 1337 and 1220).
