A key feature of the original City Council-approved  Work Program for the Edmonds Creative District was redevelopment of the 4th Avenue Cultural Corridor, located between Edmonds Center for the Arts and Main Street, to become a unique destination within Downtown Edmonds.

The purpose of the project was to enhance this important pedestrian connection between Downtown Edmonds' premier arts/culture venue and the restaurant, shops and services of Main Street and heart of Downtown Edmonds as a safer, more welcoming and interesting pedestrian experience.

The corridor features historic houses, the Stages of History walking tour, and the public art installation "Luminous Forest", a series of solar lights embedded in the road by Seattle artist Isole Allesandrini.

Due to budgetary constraints, further development of the project was placed on hold in 2024.
