City of Edmonds & Esperance Neighborhood Alliance Hosting a Community Conversation
The City of Edmonds and the Esperance Neighborhood Alliance are inviting residents to join a community conversation about the potential annexation of Esperance, an approximately 464-acre unincorporated area with about 4,500 residents.
The organizations will co-host a Community Conversation on Annexation on Wednesday, September 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Chase Lake Elementary School. The meeting is designed as a kickoff to the community engagement process and will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and share their thoughts.
Esperance is currently under Snohomish County jurisdiction and is within the Municipal Urban Growth Area assigned to Edmonds. If annexation moves forward, Esperance would become part of the City of Edmonds, transferring responsibility for many local government services and regulations from the County to the City.
No annexation has occurred, and no final decision about annexation has been made. Community input will be part of the process before any final annexation decision is reached.
As the process develops, the City expects to provide additional information about potential annexation boundaries, zoning, resident costs, services, and other issues. All are welcome.
