Passport Procedures

As of Jan. 23, walk-in passport processing will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The last walk-in appointment will be at 11:30 a.m. each day. All passports must be processed by noon. Staff will post a sign once the line reaches that capacity.
REGULAR FEES
One check or money order payable to US Department of State is required per passport for passport fee. $35 processing fee in the form of cash or debit/credit card is required and paid separately at time of transaction
ADULTS (16 yrs and older) - $165.00 each
- $35 in the form of Cash or Debit/Credit Card (subject to a $3 service fee)
- $130 in the form of Check or Money Order
CHILDREN (15 yrs and under) - $135.00 each
- $35 in the form of Cash or Debit/Credit Card (subject to a $3 service fee)
- $100 in the form of Check or Money Order
- Children must be present.
- Both parents (with ID) must sign the form for children age 15 or below OR one parent and a certified letter from the other parent.
- One parent (with ID) must sign form for children ages 16 & 17.
- If the child had a prior passport, both the Prior Passport and original Birth Certificate are required. The prior passport and original birth certificate will be mailed along with the application to the US Department of State. The original birth certificate will be returned via mail once the passport has been processed.
EXPEDITED FEES
$60.00 each in addition to passport fee for adults/children (see above) and $35 processing fee

PROCESSING TIMES
effct. February 7, 2023, per US Dept. of State
- REGULAR - can take up to 11 weeks to be returned with all original documents.
- EXPEDITED - can take up to 7 weeks to be returned with all original documents.
ADULT RENEWAL FEES
renewal fees are the same as a normal passport application
If the passport was issued 15 years or less ago, the applicant must process his/ her individual renewal form. The Edmonds Municipal Court will supply the Renewal Form (DS-82). ALL Instructions for renewing an adult passport are provided on the back of the renewal form.
If the passport was issued 16 years or more ago, the applicant must use a passport agent. The Edmonds Municipal Court will process the application using the same procedure and fees as a new passport application.
Renewal Fees are the same as a normal Passport Application.
- Adults - Bring prior Passport and valid Driver's License.
- Children- Bring prior Passport, Original Certified Birth Certificate
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Completed Application Form DS-11 in black ink.
All blanks on the form must be fully completed and CANNOT be pre-signed
- 2 Passport Photos - size 2" x 2"
- A Picture ID in the form of a Valid Drivers License, current School, Work or Military ID
- One of the following:
